Marsha learned to fish as a kid when her father took her to
farm ponds and the banks of the Fourche River near Bigelow.
She spent many hours of her childhood fishing for anything
that would bite. In 1996 a friend introduced Her to tournament
bass fishing. She soon found herself competing in local and
regional tournaments against some very tough competition.
Everyone knows Arkansas is home to some of the best
anglers in the country, not only the Pros, but the weekend
anglers as well. “Anglers in Arkansas will push you to be your
best”. Marsha learned many of her bass angling skills from
competing in local tournaments.
The Women’s Bassmaster Tour began in 2006. Marsha
immediately joined and found herself competing against the
top female anglers from around the world. To date Marsha
has yet to miss a Women’s Bassmaster Tour event. She has
had 1 top 10, 1 top 20, and 5 top 50 finishes in Women’s
Bassmaster Tour events.
In 2008 Marsha landed sponsorship with SFVU Business
Group which has helped to upgrade her equipment. Marsha
feels that better equipment like Kistler rods, X-Point hooks,
and McCoy line has helped her improve on the WBT this
year. Marsha is currently ranked 25th for the 2009 season.
Marsha encourages everyone who is passionate about
something to follow their dreams, just like she is following her
dream of being the Women’s Bassmaster Tour Angler of the
Year.
In the next few years watch as Marsha pursues the Women’s
Bassmaster Tour Angler of the Year title. To follow Marsha on
