Kevin Koone is a native Arkansas angler. He was
born and raised in Greenbrier, AR. Kevin grew up
fishing all over the state, but he considers Greers
Ferry and Dardanelle his home waters. Kevin is an
avid outdoorsman and loves to fish and hunt. He
receives a ton of support from his friends and family in
Arkansas, which is a must in the sport of competitive
bass fishing. He is a member of Lifesong Baptist
Church in Greenbrier.
Kevin has been aspiring to become a professional
angler his entire life. He grew up fishing with his
grandfathers and his father. Kevin began fishing team
tournaments with his father at the age of eight years
old, and he has been addicted to the competition ever
since that time. After graduating from Greenbrier
High School, Kevin attended Arkansas Tech
University. During his career at Arkansas Tech Kevin
was able to aid in the start of a university fishing club.
In his final semester as a college student Kevin
qualified for the College Smashmouth Bass National
Championship on the Arkansas River. He was
fortunate enough to help Arkansas Tech secure the
National title in that event in August of 2006.
With a national title under his belt and a degree in
agricultural business, Kevin headed out to chase his
dreams on the FLW Series in 2006. Kevin fished the
inaugural season of the FLW Series as a co-angler,
and he was blessed with immediate success. Kevin
won the first ever FLW Series event. That tournament
was held on Lake Lanier in Georgia. He has been
successfully fishing national level FLW events ever
since. Kevin has accumulated numerous top 10
finishes on the FLW Tour and the FLW Series and he
has had multiple Forrest Wood Cup qualifications.
His dream is to compete as a pro on the FLW Tour.
Fishing as a co-angler for multiple seasons has
allowed him to learn valuable lessons that will help
him when he makes the big leap to the professional
side of FLW competition.
